A Night to Remember: Captain Phillips Inspires at Michigan Heroes Museum’s 50th Anniversary Event
Frankenmuth, MI – May 13, 2025
The Michigan Heroes Museum celebrated a landmark 50 years of honoring our state’s military and space heroes with an unforgettable evening featuring Captain Richard Phillips—the real-life mariner whose harrowing story of courage and survival captured the world’s attention.
Held at the Bronner Performing Arts Center, An Evening with Captain Phillips drew hundreds of guests from across Michigan for a night of reflection, storytelling, and community pride. Captain Phillips shared a powerful firsthand account of his 2009 hijacking ordeal, offering insight into true leadership, calm under pressure, and the unshakable strength of the human spirit.
We extend our deepest thanks to our generous sponsors for making this evening possible. Your support helped us not only bring a world-renowned speaker to our community, but also spotlight the very mission that has guided us for five decades:
To Honor, Respect, and Remember.
A special thank-you goes to Team Honor, whose relationship with Captain Phillips and behind-the-scenes efforts made this event a reality.
As we continue our 50th anniversary celebration, we invite you to visit the Museum and experience the stories that continue to inspire generations.
